Setsuko Yoshida
was born and educated in Kyoto, Japan. Growing up in an atmosphere of traditional Japanese culture surrounded by temples, shrines and the beautiful nature of Kyoto, Setsuko was encouraged her to pursue her art. She studied at the Kyoto University of Education, graduating with a Fine Arts degree and taught fine arts for ten years in Japan. Since moving to the United States, she has been concentrating on painting with watercolor media, with a focus of on spiritual themes and nature. “I like the brilliant colors and transparency of watercolor media which allow me to expand my imagination about subjects more freely.
